The week before, my brother was down there
and gave me a call. He told me that his wife and himself had caught 9
in one day. I called around and booked a trip for Lisa and myself, leaving
the very next week. We hit the water the day after we arrived and ended
up hooking 12 and landing six. What a trip!

2007 First turkey with my bow,
My husband Larry and I had tried to get out to roost birds the night before,
but as we headed to our area to roost , the birds where out in a clover field eating.
So, we knew we had to be back there extra early the next morning, like 4:30 am.
Larry got two decoys set up in the dark, and we patiently waited. We are set up in a Pop-blind, and gobbling started way before daylight on roost. Heard 8 different gobbler's there close, but in come my bird straight to the decoys. He put on quite the show for us. I got drawn and made the perfect shot on him.
Larry gives me a big ole hug and smile and said "Hon It does not get any prettier than that."
It was a perfect hunt and my most favorite hunt yet!

It was the second season of shotgun back in 1999. I was only sixteen.
My buddy and I woke up that morning and decided to hunt behind my house
on the neighbor's property. We set up in our stands and at first light
my buddy shoots. After an hour or so I decided to go check out to see
what he had shot. He was pretty excited when I got to him. He had shot
a doe but didn't know how good he had hit her. So we went back and got
my grandpa to help us track the buck. After it seemed like we had
walked a mile with little luck of finding the deer my buddy stops me
and says he sees a buck lying down. I couldn't see him so I told him if
you have a clear shot take him. So he steadies his gun and bomb. Missed
and all I see is antlers running down the hill. So I took off and got a
head of the buck. He came right to me. He gave me a 40 yard shot and I
dropped him in his track with my 20 gauge. I really didn't know how big
he was but I ran down to him and that's when I started screaming. WOW
this deer was the biggest deer I had ever taken. Man I was so glad my
buddy missed.

Father's Day 2008 - My dad and I launched the boat just as the morning sun was coming up
over beautiful Lake Erie. What could be better than spending a day on
the lake with your dad on Father's Day. The morning started out pretty
slow. We were using tube jigs fishing in 20-25 feet of water. Finally
we were able to catch a few nice three to four pound smallmouth after a
couple hours of fishing. Then I was able to land this one. This
beautiful smallmouth weighed in at 5.6 pounds on our digital scale.
Thanks Dad, for always taking me fishing!!!

Nov 28 2008 - Man, what an Awesome day It was. This is one of my most memorable hunts ever. I've
only hunted with a decoy twice before today, and never saw a deer with it
out. But today that all changed. I wasn't for sure to use the decoy as a
doe or a buck.
Decided to use it as a buck and sure glad I did. I set it
out from the box blind in front of me about 50yrds away facing me.
Was just starting to get good light out and I look up across the field
and see a deer's body trotting my way, so I pull out the binos and take a
look. The first thing I saw was the rack and said to myself, "oh yeah,
he is a nice one".
So I put the binos down and just watched him to see what was going
to do. Boy did he put on a show. When i first saw him he had already noticed the decoy and was on his way to check it out. He was
about 300 yds out and coming. He would stop and look, then come trotting
again, until he got about 50 yds away and to the right of it (up wind). Then starts walking and circles around it to get down wind. You could
tell he didn't like it being there. The hair was starting to stick up on
him. When he got down wind from it. that's when he started doing the side
stepping towards it.
When he got 15 feet from it, that's when I let him have it. If I didn't he would of attacked it. I dropped him in his tracks.
He is not my biggest and definitely not a monster but this guy is going to
bring me some good memories for a lifetime. I'm going to get him mounted
in a very aggressive pose.

January 18th, 2009 - It was the last evening of the late doe season in
Illinois. Jimmy and I sat up on a cut cornfield in hopes of taking my
first doe. We weren’t seeing much activity until right before dark.
Then finally a group of three does came out to feed. They were pretty
nervous due to all the shooting going on all around us by some crazy
people! I thought for sure that they were going to run off, but then
they stopped about 120 yards away. Me freaking out, I had to quickly
pull the muzzle loader up and frantically ask Jimmy which one to shoot.
He told me to shoot the biggest one. So I found her in the scope while
horribly shaking and hoping to not get hit in the forehead by the
scope! I pulled the trigger and once the smoke cleared I asked Jimmy if
I even got her. I can never tell with all that darn smoke! He said yes
and I screamed with joy!! After a rough but short tracking job with
four people (thanks PJ and Ashley) we were able to recover my first
doe. I think Jimmy may have been more excited than me and that was
pretty hard to beat! Deer hunting is such a rush and I can’t wait to
get back out there!!!!
